Retro Cooking Diva Style
It's time to put all of my old cookbooks to use!
For a long time, I've collected cookbooks. I have tones of them, but the thing is... I've always hated to cook! I don't know if I've said this before but, I'm a mom of six children. Which always meant that my dinner table was always a fight. If I made one dinner that one of my children liked, it was inevitable that I would have one to five children that hated it. But never the less, I bought cookbooks like I was a pro chief ready to whip out a batch of homemade brownies like Ina Garten! LOL!
As much as I love writing, I thought it would be fun to write about something I've always wanted to do... use my dozens of unused cookbooks. I also had my mom send me some of her old cookbooks that I used to look at when I was little and make the recipes I used to dream about making when I was a little girl. There might even be a drawing or two of mine on the pages. Hehehe.
There's going to be recipes from the '60s and the '70s, '80s, and tones from the nineties and early 2000s. I have hundreds of free-standing recipes given to me from friends, church recipe swaps, and some from my darling friend Doris, who not only edits my writings, can bake like a pro!
Next week will be my very first dish. It will be super easy, because I hate hard, and coming from one of my favorite cookbooks that I have had since 1995 but have never used it before.
Goose Berry Patch "For the Bees & Me" Cookbook/ flower and craft book. This is a fantastic cookbook that I've been dying to try for a long time.
I hope you will join me for cooking recipes from the past and the present and see what we come up with... and probably make a mess while doing it. ;)
